If you're offline and receive a direct message or friend request on Bluepulse, you will receive an email or standard-rate SMS (text message) notification.

To set your message notifications, go to the 'Profile' tab, select 'Options' and see the boxes under 'Message Notifications'. Don't forget to click 'Save changes' at the bottom!
